Leave Your Comfort Zone!

Leave Your Comfort Zone!

“The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone.”

– Karen Salmansohn –

Leave your comfort zone today. Amazon.Com “suggested” to me that I buy these cards called “A Tool for Getting out of Your Comfort Zone”. It being a new year, I thought they might be fun to try. I bought and they arrived quickly. I took them to the office to see if the staff wanted to try as well. They jumped in the deep end with me – they always do.

I passed them out to our staff and pulled one for myself.

I only made it half a day before I spent. I’ll scrape myself off the ground after failing this task and grab a new card this week. I promise to be better.

Joe Lopez picked the 30 second hug card. He is not a big hugger, so this was a tough pull for him. The 49ers won yesterday, so he might have passed out some hugs but not 30 second hugs.

Rusty’s Pick. This one should be easy for Rusty. I’ll watch for it in the mail!

Anyone who knows Maria, knows she will have a tough time with this one.

Carragan said she slept on the floor two nights in a row. Such an overachiever. Her first pick was to reach out to 5 celebrities on Twitter. She doesn’t have Twitter, so we let her pick another.

America’s pick. America congratulated her son who has been fighting cancer and winning for the last couple of years. He is a brave young soul and America has been a rock for him!

Our favorite court reporter and great friend, Suzanne (shout out to DeposToCourt) picked an interesting one……”Writing Your Own Eulogy.” Three pages later, she asked for another card. Some of these tasks are challenging and seemingly easy. But, what is simple for one might be difficult for another (like Joe Lopez giving a 30 second hug).

Getting out of your comfort zone is making change. Thinking about change is important and appropriate today as we honor Martin Luther King, Jr. today. MLK’s birthday is actually January 15th, but our Federal Government observes it on Monday each year.

Martin Luther King, Jr. has many famous quotes, but this is one of the best. “We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. –

Stepping out of your comfort zone is also thinking about those who made sacrifices more significant than most of us will ever make. MLK died for what he believed in – we can all be better than we are right now. We should all try to do be better tomorrow than we were today.
